Both in and out of the classroom, we had another great day teaching and hanging out with Kazakhstani students!! We are only sad that two of our American students have a stomach bug and were unable to join the fun. Praying for quick recovery for them!

Lessons in the morning + Lunch in the park + A sweaty afternoon of outdoor games +Evening youth Bible study = Another Full Day!

We spent a FULL day today with the beginning of English Camp at School Number 79! Although the director was apologetic that the students wouldn’t be in full force this morning, over 100 teen-agers were in place by the time we began our lessons. We kept having to divide the classes into smaller groups to give everyone more optimal English converstion practice. Because the school is also being re-painted right now, large classrooms were at a minimum (and fumes were at a maximum!). Still, everyone remained flexible and adapted to the ever changing situation. By the second block of teaching, teachers, helpers, and students had adjusted to their groups and fun English lessons were well underway! It is going to be a very full week of English, English, English. . .

Almagul Church celebrated its 16th (!) anniversary today with a worship service and picnic in the mountains. We witnessed a true weather miracle as God, once again, held off some very threatening storm clouds. Right before Dan began to preach, some drops began. I know that everyone in the meadow was praying. The rain ceased and the clouds moved on, giving us a nice, cool afternoon in the mountains. Only when we finished our picnic, loaded the bus, and began to drive away did it begin to rain again! How thankful we are for God’s many provisions!

We had wonderful worship and extended time of fellowship this afternoon. Singles, families, children, and youth all had a fabulous time singing, playing, eating, and visiting. So thankful for this family that we have!

Though we were sad to say good-bye to our lazy day of summer (note the singular tense there), we are thoroughly enjoying our team from Memphis! They had a full day today – touring the mountains at Chimbulak with Young Life Staff, backyard barbecue at the Burns, prayer and planning with team and translators, then hang-out time at the MegaMall! They are having full cultural and linguistic exchange with their new friends, learning such IMPORTANT Russian phrases, such as (the dynamic equivalents for): “Go jump in the lake!” “I am a real cutie!” “Later, dude!” and “Give me money!”. Never a dull moment
